Just got back from a gig in Chicago, home of rap heavyweights Common, Kanye West, No I.D., Twista, Lupe Fiasco, & Rhymefest, to name a few…I have to shout out The Bassment Record stores for doing their part in keeping retail & Hip Hop alive. Not sure if many people remember the song Common & Kanye performed for Super Bowl XLI, but it was an alternate version of “Southside” and, at the time, a preview of the masterpiece to come.
